to start off on the development of the animal walk cycle I worked on choosing 3 animals and narrowed them down to a Wolverine, Arctic Fox and finally an Impala. These animals I thought are all very distinctive in many ways from their walk to their looks. after revising all the animals I decided to go with the wolverine as it was a more simple walk, while still being a unique animal. I drew all 3 animals to test, which one I would prefer the most.
Then I proceeded to take the wolverine and plan out the number of frames and get a more solid drawing down of the wolverine to make it easier to draw out the animation. This is very important as it helps greatly to develop a solid animation and understand the walk better as well as have thought through it. I could of down a bit more for the timeline like a few drawings to dictate the positioning on frames. It definitely helps develop the animation quicker.
for the start of the animation, I started using basic shapes of the animal to map out the animation, but also to help develop solid drawing and work on the final animation. It was good to do as it was quick and easy and mapped out the animation for the final animation. then I overlapped the final animation to get to the final animation of the wolverine. I went for a more simplistic form to make it easier to animate.
Overall I think that the skeletal frame really helped to create the animation and worked well, but for eh finally animation I could have made a much better, the big issue that I think with the animation is mainly solid drawing. The issue is a bit glaring as to where you can see the drawing flicker as in part of the drawing on frame change a bit. I should have been more careful and flicked between frame more, as well as check my drawings more to the onion skiing of the frames before hand to get a nice more solid animation.
