Two Tone Drawing

For this drawing, I did a roughly 1-hour long two-toned drawing where I used pencil for simple construction and then blue and red coloured pencils for drawing the body and details of the person in the pose. The red pencil was used to create the person’s outline and shapes to create the proportions. The blue pencil was used to create the details and the shading on the person. I used a lot of construction techniques to measure the person and create a pretty accurate representation that I’m proud of. I used the line of action and basic shapes, as well as measuring techniques to get accurate proportions.

This drawing is one of the better drawings that I’ve done and is quite accurate to the person I was drawing, the person’s pose was well constructed and I used the negative space to more accurately position the arms and legs. The two colours that I used for the two-toned drawing helped to emphasise the detailed features of the pose from the shading to the face. Another good feature is the blue complemented the Red while keeping enough of a disposition to discern the features and details of the person allowing for a clear and precise drawing. There isn’t much I would state that would be needed to change from the drawing as it is one of the better drawings I have done as it’s highly precise and has relatively I quite a bit of detail. I do think that I could have centred the drawing better to fit on the page better and adding more detail could have made it look better.
