Long Pose Drawing 2

for the second long pose, I proceeded to draw a person sitting down by using a hard, medium and soft charcoal pencil. For this drawing, I used some of the basic construction technique such as the line of action to get the positioning and basic shapes to create the outline and construction of the person. I used the hard charcoal to do the construction and then completed the outline/form of the body by using the medium charcoal and proceed to use the soft charcoal to do the shading of the person.

when it came to the end of the draw I think that I could have done a lot better if I took more care with the measuring and developing of the outline of the person in the pose. The left-arm was a bit to thin in comparison to the other arm and body. I should have measured it better in comparison to the body and other arm to create a more correctly proportionate arm. I think I could have drawn the head a little larger to make sure it fits the shoulders properly and doesn’t seem disproportionate to the body. I should have done this by making sure the shoulder length was 2 headlong in comparison to the head.

Even though I added more details to this drawing and manage to give the drawing more form I do not think it’s as good as my other long drawing as the other drawing may not be as detailed, but it was more accurate in proportion and form making it better to look at. This is due to the use of better construction and helps me further understand how using more steps of construction can help greatly.
