For this long pose, I drew for roughly an hour a person leaning on the staff in pencil. I constructed the drawing of the person using the line of action and then build up from it by using basic shapes and measure the person by 7 heads tall. From there I proceeded to add a more accurate form and measure out the proportions correctly by comparing body parts like the head to should length and making the upper and lower arms were the same size and same for the legs, as well as find the midpoint of the body. I also added in the objected in the hand of the person, so that I could use the staff as reference for correctly aligning the body.
For the development of the drawing, I think that it has come along quite well. The proportions are accurate and the pose of the person is placed correctly or at least relatively close. I do wish that I could have added more details to the features of the person to get a more realistic representation of the form. it would have been nice to have developed a more detailed drawing within the time I drew it to make it more clear and better, but overall I’m happy with what I manage to have done as the drawing is accurate to the person’s proportion and posture. I think it’s an improvement in my drawing abilities and shows that I’m capable of drawing a person’s proportions and form better.
